Zero, first and second conditionals

Hi. I was hoping to get an answer concerning the zero, first and second conditionals.

So we had a test today and there were also the following examples;

If the cat (hide)_______ in the tree, the dog _______ (not find) it.

Is at this particular example possible to use only first conditional or zero conditional just as well?

And another one:

It's so noisiy in this room. Even if the students (listen)_________ carefully, they _________ (not hear) the woodpecker.

Which one, the first or the second conditional with this one?

Thank you for answering in advance.
