Which is correct? use of "you" or use of 'your".
We appreciate you taking the time to call
or
We appreciate your taking the time to call
I think it is 'your' but I do not know the "rule" for it. Does anyone know?

appreciate is a higher register word than thank, so use the higher register pattern your taking ....

In more casual conversation it's simply Thanks for taking the time to call.
