Youth-oriented society

Please check my answers as written.
  1. Women have served in the American military throughout most of this century, but most in support roles: as nurses, supply workers, and transportation personnel.
  2. Sarajevo, once a prosperous, tolerant city where people of many background live together in peace, is now a city torn apart by war and ethnic rivalry.
  3. He has been working in this company since after graduated from college, but the promotion he has been hoping for does not come through because of a poor performance evaluation.
  4. It is a shame that in our youth-oriented society too much emphasis placed on externals.
