In first place I’d like to explain, what does “youth” means: “youth” it’s the time of life between childhood and adulthood and at this time the person knows moral and physical changes, and this creates a gap between the teens and the adults especially their parents! And in my case, “youth” means discover the world and built our life by learning from our mistakes and from others’ experience! And since our English teacher was offering to talk about “youth”, there were many issues that jostled in my head:
Why during this period of life we feel like a gap between adults and our generation? Is it that old people understand us? Are there real problems?
At first sight, I’d like to talk about some teens problems, some adolescents say: “Nobody understands me except my friends!” or “My parents refuse to give my freedom I feel like a prisoner, I’ve the right to live my life as do the others!”…
Do you know why there’re those who feel this way?
This amounts simply to a lack of communication between teens and their parents, because without discussion from time to time no problem will be solved. During youth, the caracters that the parents have been seen in their children have changed. That is normal in adolescent; however the child begins to mature!
So what can the parents do?
They should take some times to talk to their children, to give them advices in a friendly ambiance without violence and intolerance. As a matter of fact, sometimes it’s difficult to understand us, then, they must be remembered when them too, had our age!
In youth the person feels himself independent, he wants to have a lot of freedom, make a lot of friends, and he wants to all what he wants, when he wants… From this angle I see that the youth is like a baby who just push his firsts screams and us a man lost in the middle of the desert, he don’t know which way to go, which way is safe: he needs a guide!
As a matter of fact, sometimes it’s difficult to understand us, then, they must be remembered when them too, had our age!
Furthermore, some people criticize our way of dressing or our commitment to technology, I tell them that we should not complicate things and talk for no reason, go back twenty years back; you’ll see that your words is somewhat different from ours. Each generation has a new way of handing things. While technology has bad sides but does not allow putting a cross on its good sides…
I’m optimistic about our generation of the twentieth century and if Allah wants, we’ll change the word and make it better, we must be careful and vigilantes’ eyes should be kept on today’s youth!
In short, youth is an important time of life, it’s the base, therefore must be strong! And I disagree with Pablo Picasso who said: “youth has no age”; “the youth” has an age and never will be never forgotten!
