When you say, "you're welcome" after someone says thank you, what are you actually saying? What does the words, you're welcome actually mean?

Someone helps you.
You say 'Thank you'.
They say 'You're welcome'.

I suppose they are basically saying
eg You are welcome to enjoy my kindness, my helpf

Growing up, I was taught that the phrase, "you are welcome" or "you're welcome" means that the you are invited to receive the kindness (whatever you are thankful for) yet again.
