Your data has been submitted????

Hello there.
"Your data has been submitted" is giving me a hard time, it's a phrase that we use, in a sign, when people is done filling a form online.
Now, somebody says it grammatically incorrect! and I don't know what to say.... if I don't reply "intelligently" I'm going to spend quite a good time changing everything.... any ideas? please help.

I assume the issue is whether to say 'Your data has . . . ' or 'Your data have . . . '.

The word 'data' is technically plural, but in everyday English it is almost always treated as singular. ie 'Your data has . . .'.
