"You _____, you lose"

Hello!

Do you know this idiom? "You ___, you lose." I don't recall exactly how it is. I'm missing that word, and I don't know what it is... I think it's supposed to rhyme with "lose". Could anyone help me, please? Thanks!

By the way, if you don't understand when is it used, I think it can be something like this:

"I got into a restaurant, I chose a table, and I sat there. I waited for the waiter/waitress. But before they came, I recalled I had to wash my hands, and I went to the bathroom. When I got back to the table where I had sat, I noticed someone had sat there, just where I was. I told him, 'Excuse me, I had sat there... I just went temporarily to the bathroom...', but he ruthlessly replied 'You ___, you lose'. He didn't care minimally about the inconvenience he was going to cause me, but I didn't want to cause any fight, so I left him, and waited a few more minutes for a table to be cleared out for me. And, as I'm an honest person, I immediately repented of trying to cause him the same inconvenience I eventually passed through."

Do you understand now more clearly a possible context? Then, help me, please, if you can... Thanks in advance!

No, I don't think it was "You win some, lose some"...

I suppose it is 'You choose, you lose', meaning 'you chose to take a risk, and you lost'.

But I've never heard this idiom.

Or perhaps 'You snooze, you lose', meaning you did not pay proper attention to the situation?

You schmooze, you lose (chatting and not paying attention)
You booze, you lose (don't drink and drive)
You cruise, you lose (macho is not in these days)

I"m sure it was "You snooze, you lose."

And you have nothing to feel sorry for. You did nothing to cause him inconvenience.

Yeah, that makes sense. It must have been "You snooze, you lose". Thank you, Barbara, and everyone for your contributions!
BarbaraPAAnd you have nothing to feel sorry for. You did nothing to cause him inconvenience.
No, but the point is I'd have preferred to wait for anot
