A.  I like you being who you are.B.  I like your being who you are.C.  I like you being honest.D.  I like your being honest.1. Which of the sentences above is correct?2. If both are possible in each set, is there any difference in meaning?  formality?3. Which is more natural between A and B, and C and D?4. I believe sentence A is the same as saying 'I like you as who you are', though I'm not sure about C like saying 'I like you as honest'.  Would you agree 'being' can be substitued with 'as'?5. If not, how is 'being' different from 'as' in meaning?Please help.  Thanks lots.

2. i dont think both are possible because, The word 'your' is a possessive pronoun of 'you.

3. already answered.

4. when you are saying 'I like you as who you are', that is a simile were its comapring to somthing else, where as when you are saying 'I like you being who you are', you want him changing to the form you want.

'I like you as honest', i think its not a complete sentence, i hope one of the teachers here explain it to me too =D

3. Which is more natural between A and B, and C and D?-- A and C are more common in spoken English; B and D are more common in careful written English.

4. I believe sentence A is the same as saying 'I like you as who you are', though I'm not sure about C like saying 'I like you as honest'. Would you agree 'being' can be substitued with 'as'? 5. If not, how is 'being' different from 'as' in meaning?-- No, because the grammar does not work and I don't know what you mean by that. Let us take a clearer example:

I like you roller-skating = I like you as person when you/we are roller-skating.
I like your roller-skating = Your skating style is attractive

Being honest, I like you.

Without a subject of its own, 'being' must accept the subject of the main clause ('I').

As a native speaker, the sentences may be grammatically correct, but they don't sound like something that one would say. Nobody that I know would say: I like you being who you are. That just sounds strange. However, we might say something like: I like you for being who you are.
