"You too" or "Me too"

I heard in one movie. When the actress said "It was nice talking to you". The other one replied "You too" (I am not sure about that, But I heard something like that.
Could anyone please give me the explanation which is suitable for this situation. If someone say "It was nice talking to you". What should I respond, "you too" or "me too".

Thank you for your help.

A formal reply would be cumbersome in an informal situation. Unfortunatly, there's no technically correct reply that's not awkward. In the example you cite, neither "you too" nor "me too" is technically correct.

Winky.."It was nice talking to you". The other one replied "You too"
Here's my explanation. The response is an abbreviated form of this:

(It was nice talking to) you too.

My understanding-

It was nice talking to you--- They are talking about them self

I think you have to expression your feeling "me too"

You take care--- They are talking about you

As a reply we usually talk about them "you too"

Movie example: Me be it is like short form of saying It was nice talking to "you too".

I think, In this situation you should say me too. Not you too if someone said to you good morning then you should say you too.
