You should put in your phone number. VS. You should input your phone number.

Thank you, but my teach says "put in" there for the meaning of "press". Then it should be "input" if it means "press" number things?

No, that is not a necessary distinction. 'Input' is a computer word, actually, but they could mean the same thing.
