You or yourself

Hi,
is it wrong to say "Can you tell me something about you?"
or does it have to be "Can you tell me something about yourself?"

The correct sentence is "Can you tell me something about yourself?"

What about in the following example?

There's something about you that I really like.
There's something about yourself that I really like.

When do we use the object pronoun 'you' over 'yourself' and vice versa?

For me as a native British English speaker "you" is correct in that phrase.
