You may remember me.

Please see the following sentences. I have questions regarding both.

1) You may remember me. We were sitting next to each other on a flight from London to Berlin last Friday. (Here I would like to know whether the word "may" shows "possibility."

2) We met each other last month at the Chrysler sales convention in Milan. (Here I would like to know whether "each other" is needed in the sentence.)

  • cat navy 425 You may remember me.
  • = It is possible that you remember me.
  • " Yes.
  • That's the meaning.
  • The only other meaning of "may" is permission, and there's nothing in the context that suggests that someone has asked permission to remember the speaker and that the speaker is granting permission to be remembered.
