You liked EnglishForward, did not you? (contraction needed?)

Some consider it a general rule to avoid contractions in formal writing. (They were not there instead of they weren't there). But is it grammatically correct to 'expand' contraction in interrogative sentence? I just can't find the rule that prohibits such thing.
However, never in my life I have seen something like "You liked EnglishForward, did not you?"

No rule states contraction is compulsory. You can say: You liked English Forums, did you not ? CB
