Vocabulary

you know it

Hi everyone,

I came across a conversation in a movie:

A: are you a friend of her's?
B: you know it.

Does it just mean " yes"?
Is it rude? Like you already know it then why do you ask?

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

I don't think normally it would be meant rudely. However, if said in an irritated tone, with a certain intonation, I guess it's possible it may mean "Why ask when you already know?" One would really need to watch the whole scene to judge.

Mike2015You know it.
In the given context, my first impression without having seen the movie is that's enthusiastic, not rude.

You know it. ~ I most certainly am (a friend of hers).

Sorry, just one more question;

In this context?

I am confused by the unmatched and/or missing quotation marks in your question. If it is an emphatic "Yes", as suspected, then, yes, it is similar to "**** yeah!" I don't understand "rock n roll word up".

Is this similar to "****, yeah", "Rock 'n' roll", or "Word up" in this context?

I wasn't too sure either so I looked it up in the Urban Dictionary to confirm my suspicions.
