You have gotten driving directions

Hi.

I am reading an article about google maps, and I cant understand ' gotten driving directions' in the following paragraph :

"You've checked the location of your destination, or maybe gotten driving directions. But Google Maps has much more to offer, even after being around for a few years. Google continues to improve the maps, and users are finding (and sharing) handy tips and tricks."

Regards.

Hi, "You've checked the location of your destination, or maybe ( you have ) gotten driving directions Y ou have obtained driving instructions. eg Maybe someone told them to you. 'You have gotten' is a variant of 'you have got', and is thus derived from the base verb 'get'.

  • 'Gotten' is a pretty standard feature of American English, I believe.
