You did good things in ur life

which sentence should I use of the following to express what has been done in my life

1-you did good things in ur life

or

2- you have done good things in ur life

as I know, I should use the present perfect to express things that happend in times which aren't mentioned in the sentence, but I once Heared someone who was using the first sentence and I got confused then. so please tell me what should I say in such situation? and plz tell me why should I use it?

thank you

Hi, which sentence should I use of the following to express what has been done in a person's my li fe 1-you did good things in ur life This does not stress that those things are important now, in the present. eg Maybe the person has died? or 2- you have done good things in ur life This version is better.
