Grammar

You cried your eyes out when he left

A: I didn't like him that much.
B: Oh, please! you cried your eyes out when he left!

I'd like to know if the underlined phrase is the only case that "cry" can take one "object" and "complement."
Thank you in advance for your help.

It can also take a reflexive pronoun followed by a to-PP, usually with the noun sleep as complement of the preposition: The baby cried itself to sleep. She cried herself to a stupor.

The Ella FitzGerald lyrics are more sophisticated.
How often can you find a rhyme for 'too plebeian'?

Now you say you're lonely
You cried the long night through
Well, you can cry me a river, cry me a river
I cried a river over you
Now you say you're sorry
For being so untrue
Well, you

Those are the ones I started out to look for. But Justin's popped up first and I tried to save time and effort...as usual.
