Hi

Could you please tell me if both of the following sentences are equally natural in spoken English?

You can't believe how much traffic there was today.
You can't believe how much traffic was there today.

I would be more likely to say You wouldn't (or won't) believe how much traffic there was today which would mean there was a lot of traffic on the roads.
You wouldn't believe how much traffic was there today would sound rather odd and would suggest that you were talking about traffic at one

Yes, good point. I wasn't looking at that part of the sentence.

I can't believe... (even now)
I couldn't believe... (while I was in it)
You wouldn't believe... (it's just so bad it defies belief)
You won't believe.. (even if I tell you all about it)

All of those sound better than the original.
