You Bet You

Hi.

Could anybody please list up queries/expressions to which you may say, "You betcha!"? It seems to me there are a lot of situations where you might say, "You betcha!," such as where you hear "Thanks."

'You betcha' is no longer a common response. It is slang which is losing currency. It means ' I certainly will or I certainly agree '.

I feel it is more used in the Midwest. Isn't it?

Some people sometimes use that in response to "Thank you." Does it mean "I agree you should thank me"???

I see it's getting outdated. Despite that, I'm curious to know some more examples where you could use it. Would anyone please let me see them?

Hi, HSS. I would add my pitch to what Mr.Micawber said.

"Betcha" also shows degree of certainty. "I'd bet on it", "bet you".

Betcha you cannot do that. (I don't believe you can do it.)

Betcha Mary will be there, she wants to get this job.

I betcha she can't have made that mess, she is so peaceful.

Yes, usually as "You bet", not "You betcha", and more and more only by the older generation, as a substitute for "You're welcome".

I meant "You betcha" or "You bet" only, without any following phrase or clause. I hear people say "You betcha" to "Thank you." Is it a derived form, or mistakenly used?

Please let me see examples that use "You betcha" without a clause following it as a response.

Thanks in advance.

I can't help you here and I'll wait other answers.

The first time I heard that was in the 70's, there was this song called "Betcha by golly wow". I sounded soooo weird back then! =)
