Grammar

You are welcome to + inf.

Hi guys,

I was asked to translate an email text for an invitation to a party.

The party is held by mom's whose daughters from (? Is this 'from' grammatically correct?) the same high school almost won at a dance contest.

1) What do you call such a party? (like a farewell party, a house warming party, etc.)

2) Is the next phrase not too informal or unnatural?

" p.s. Moms and dads, you are welcome to bring something to share (though it is not required)."

I want it to sound natural, casual but not impolite.

Thanks in advance.
