You are not an artist's bootlace

Hello,

I would like to ask you about the meaning of a phrase, which I think could be an idiom:

You are not an artist's bootlace.

Could you, please, explain it to me.

Thank you very much.

Hi, It's certainly not an idiom that I know. Basically, it seems to mean that you are not an artist's humble, unimportant slave. Clive
