You are missing on/missing many new news stories

Hi

I believe "missing on" should be used in the sentence below. But how would it affect the meaning if it were simply "missing"? Please let me know. Thank you.

Man, I think you are missing on/missing many new news stories.

Hi, I assume the idea here is that 'you' are not getting the information that you should be getting. missing is fine. missing out on is idiomatic nd casual missing on is not idiomatic, not correct Clive

On FB I have seen people saying "Am I missing something important?", which now I understand isn't correct grammatically.

It is correct but it's not the only correct wording. "Am I missing something?" and "Am I missing out out on something?" are both correct.

maybe this is what you meant " you're missing out on many new stories" -"missing out on" something that would be enjoyable or useful to u, u are not involved in it or do not partake in it.

.we're missing out on a tremendous oppurtunity.
