AnonymousWhich is correct? "Make John and me proud." [Y]
"Make John and I proud." [N] and why? Because you need the object pronoun "me" to be the object of the verb "make".

Thank you.

Why do I have to do this?

You need quotation marks around the sentence you are quoting, but you do not use the internal period. You also need an apostrophe, and you should really recast it as a compound sentence, since 'but' is generally a poor way for learners to begin a sentence:

I think "Make John and me proud" is correct, but I don't know why.

You have to do it because you can't put that one sentence on three separate lines. It's one continuous sentence and thought.

Hi,

Of course the second one, because you need an object pronoun hereEmotion: it wasnt me.
