Yiddish in English

Hello there,

I am writing a paper on Yiddish words used and understood by native English speakers. English is not my mothertongue and I have learned it mostly in the UK and Australia, whereas I understand Yiddish influence is stronger on American English.
My question then would be: which are the Yiddish words that any (American) native speaker would understand? Maybe you use Yiddish words without even knowing they are Yiddish., there's a list on Wikipedia if you need to crosscheck.

Thanks for your help!
