yet/still/much more companies

Without government intervention, this could become a vicious cycle. As more companies went bankkrupt, more people lose their jobs, making income fall further and leading yet more companies to fail in a frightening downward spiral.

Is it correct to interpret the above as "Without ... making income fall further and leading still/much more companies to stick in a frightening downward spiral?"
Is "still" equal to "still and much?"
Last, does "fail in" equal "stick in?" Thanks.

Not at all. The two words are not collocated. 'Fail' is the opposite of 'succeed'. 'In a frightening downward spiral' is an adverbial describing the manner of failing.
