which one, and why.

to me both are acceptable.
Both are acceptable to me, too.
"Yet' can be used as an adverb, and also as a conjunction.

I favor dropping the "and." The "and" brings in a pensive element - but, ya know, when you really come right down to it - as though you're really going to come up with something surprising.
