Yes/No its not available.

Hi everyone! Hope you can help me with this.

Example conversation.

Lisa: sorry this book is no longer available to rent.
Adam: oh is it not?
Lisa: yup, it’s not available.

Is there something wrong with this converstion? Is it correct to say "yes its not available" or "no its not available."

Not really. You would be absolutely amazed how meaningless "yes" and "no" can be in an everyday conversation. It's really the rest of what is said that clarifies the meaning. I know people who, in your example situation, would say "Yes — no, it's not available" or
