I don't think we can say, "I can do about 20 pages a day due to my busy schedule" for no. 1 but I think we can say "I can do it about 25 times" for no. 2. Why is that when I think both "read" and "jump" are verbs that entail someone doing something?
Well, you could use 'do' in number one, but the problem is that such dialogs sound unnatural in any case because we don't normally repeat the verb or other text, so it is difficult for me to judge.
1. A: About how many pages of a book can you read a day? B: About 30, due to my busy schedule. 2. A: About how many times can you jump rope?
