Years back

Talking about being in a relationship...

"I was in one. Years back. But I felt trapped. So I had to break it up."

Questions:

1) Is this OK?

2) Is it possible to say "I was in one years back." or would you keep it separated?

3) Is "Years back" common or should I say "years ago" instead?

"I was in one. Years back. But I felt trapped. So I had to break it up."

Questions:

1) Is this OK? Yes

2) Is it possible to say "I was in one years back." Yes or would you keep it separated? Both are OK. The writer is trying to make the character speak in jerky fragments of sentences.

3) Is "Years back"
