Year or Year's

Please could you correct these three sentences and explain why you have corrected them this way. We are talking about a programme which has been designed by the person writing this.

1. I have designed this English area year programme.

2. The first point must be the general area objectives as you can see in my year's programme.

3. According to this year's programme, we are in the first cycle of primary education.

I think "My year's programme" is incorrect and should be my year programme... but can someone explain why you use an apostrophe to show ownership and yet you're not supposed to use it with programme unless you use "this" before "year's programme?" Thanks.

I'm not sure it I can explain this correctly, or as you want, but I will try: For #1 and #2 I advise changing the words year and year's to year ly , to make it an adjective describing programme ... yearly programme ... my programme of (for) the year.

  • I'm not sure it I can explain this correctly, or as you want, but I will try: For #1 and #2 I advise changing the words year and year's to year ly , to make it an adjective describing programme ...
  • yearly programme ...
  • my programme of (for) the year.
  • To me that works a little better.
  • But I am not entirely sure if this is the best answer.
