WT2 - Educating Health

Doctors should be responsible for educating their patients about how to improve their health. Do you agree with this?

Since that fact that doctors have been playing an important role as residents are paying more and more attention to their health, some suggest doctors should also take responsibilities for educating patients about health care. Although this suggestion could brings more pressure for doctors, its upsides still overweight in overall.

One of the main reason is the education of health improvement would significantly benefit the patient. First, patients would receive the adequate and sufficient information of health from a safe source instead of some unknown sources found on the Internet. For example, many people often refer to use several medical tips from untrusted websites without advice of experts, this could bring some dangerous side effects, which do more harm than good to health. Second, the treatment result would be further effective if patients both have medical treatments and health advice from the doctor who that directl diagnoses for them before. This is resulted from the unity and the mutual support of the combination in the healing process.

Another major reason is the suggestion also provides some advantages to the doctors. In fact, by adding the health educating service, doctors could gain more reputation. For instance the patients would like the clinics having consulting part rather than other ones, which help doctors of these clinics to be more well known. In addition, this kind of services also contribute to higher income for the doctors. Since they have greater values to offer for the patient, medical prices are conductive to be set higher than those of typical medical services.

In conclusion, doctors should consider on educating patients about health improvement because of benefits it bring to them and their patients.
