Some parents buy their children whatever they ask for, and allow their children to do whatever they want. Is this a good way to raise children? What consequences could this style of parenting have for children as they get older?

To satisfy children, their parents do not hesitate to pamper them with whatever they pester to buy. Although this trend has become more and more prevalent as the consequence of financial abundance, I think this would be a misleading method of child rearing, having negative impacts on the formation of their characteristics and habits in the long run.

Bringing up a child is a long-term process, taking a lot of parents’ efforts to examine the best method. Obviously, children are easily attracted by everythign around them, which is the main reason why they continually ask parents for many things they spontaneously see on the street. To reduce this, parents showld have a fixed discipline of pampering and do not allow their children to do anything beyond that limitation. Consequently, their accidental desire would be well-controlled and their self-management skill could be established at the same time. Otherwise, children will be familiar with the acceptance of whatever they like to have, bringing about unexpected bottlenecks.

There are undoubtedly several consequences of overpampering children. First and foremost, without being disciplined, as growing up, children would not have the habit of self-control, put themselves first under any circumstances and be indifferent in the relationship with other people, Additionally, the more demands of children are responded, the more …… their behaviours will become from times to times, which in turns, hinders them from integrating into social communities and teambuilding activities and making a lesser possibility of being successful in the future. Moreover, as their requirements are accepted all the time, they would no learn the hardship of earning money and therefore waste money going shopping or joining bars and clubs just to serve for their entertainment. In a more serious case, when running out of money, they would find a way to earn easy money and turn into crime without any concern.

In conclusion, pampering children would create a negative environment for children development. From my viewpoint, an appropriate discipline should be placed in every family so as to avoid the established of chronic bad habits
