i want to say that there is my frnd who is good in english one day when we was travelling one person wanted to get lift

but nobody was stopping at that day my friend was saying that the man was thinking why not anoybody stopping in this sentance . if i will see it according to rule then it is wrong but it is right so how i would be able to learn this kind of sentances
