Poor nutrition and obesity is a problem in many developed countries and some people believe that a tax on fast food would reduce the problem. do you agree?
These days, some people suppose that imposing a tax on takeaway would deal with the problem of lack of nutrients and overweight in the population of the big cities. In my opinion, I totally disagree with this idea as I believe that some solutions should target to change thoughts of people in their lives instead of focusing on takeaways.
First and most obviously, both people’s diet and lifestyle take responsibility for this situation. The former’s problem is not caused by fast food but also imbalanced diet. For example, children tend to eat fewer vegetables which results in the shortage of some nutrients including vitamin C. Another reason for obesity is sedentary lifestyle which is common in officials and children spending much more hours sitting in front of computers compared to physical activities. Lack of activities can make negative influence in mental and physical function of the body as a result of generating too much energy and releasing little power in the body.
Next, a change in people’s awareness would play a key role in solving the problem of unhealthy population. It is difficult to give up bad daily habits if residents do not realize how dangerous it is for their health. In fact, most people get used of this issue on media platforms or scientific reports but they seem not to be full enough to force them change their lives. For that reason, it is necessary for governments and medical organizers to carry out educational campaign to discourage citizens to eat fast food because of the alternative diseases like heart attack, obesity, overweighing and diabetes as results and stimulate having better meals with fresh ingredients and enough nutrients. Also, citizens should be encouraged to do more outdoor activities and vigorous exercise to become stronger and more flexible.
All things considered, to solve the problem, it is necessary to change people’s opinion to their own diets and lifestyles.
