Many students find it difficult to concentrate or pay attention at school. What are the reasons? What could be done?
Pupils are paying less attention and not concentrating properly on their class lessons at school. There are several reason behind this and it is pivotal for teachers and parents to implement appropriate steps to deal with this issue.
There are several triggers leading to lack of concentration. One of them is the diet of children, which is their high consumption in carbonated hydrate, resulting in behavioral changes such as hyperactive. For example, children nowadays are addicted to lots of snacks and carbonated beverages such as cokes and Pepsi, and the carbonation involved in these products cause a lack of ability to concentrate in class. To prevent this, these snack should be prohibited in school. Furthermore, parents have to play a part to as well, and they must keep an eye on their children’s consumptions of carbonation-related products.
Another factor would be the fact that in modern education system, teachers lack the freedom to discipline children. In the past, by taking drastic measures, they can force children pay full attention and put every effort to study in class, even if this meant physical punishment. However, these steps are no longer available or even banned at school nowadays, and in turn children are likely to get out of teacher’s control and even do not concentrate if they do not want to. In this way, children should of course not be abused, but teachers must be given more power to utilize the approach which they think appropriate to get the class under control without fear of recrimination.
In conclusion, there are several reasons why students are increasingly finding it difficult to pay attention and concentrate at school, and we need to adopt some measures to address this problem.
