Writting task 1

The bar chart illustrates the quantity of Asian elephants in 9 countries over the period from 1997 to 2004.

Overall, there was a decrease in the number of Asian elephants in almost all countries on the given list except for cambodia. Also, the largest number of elephants was belonged to India.

As can be seen from the chart, in 1997, India had the largest number of elephants with 1000 elephants. myanmar was the country which had the second largest number with 5500 elephants. On the third of this list was Thailand with about 4000 elephants. This was followed by Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China with 1000 elephants while malaysia and Sri Lanka had the noticably higher quantites of roundly 3000 elephants.

In 2004, india had a decrease in the number of elephants to 7500 elephants while this number decreased to 1000 in Malaysia , 5000 in myanmar and 1000 in Thailand. Cambodia is the only country which the number of elephants increased, compared to that of 1997.
