Writting task 1

The charts show the total number of minutes of telephone calls in the UK ,divided into 3 categories which are local-fixed line ,national and international –fixed line, and mobiles from 1995 to 2002.

Overall , the number of nation and international as well as mobile phone calls had gone up from 1995 to 2002 .Meanwhile, the number of minutes local-fix line went up and down unsteadily.

The number of minutes of local telephone call gradually increased from 1995 to 1999.however, from 1999 to 2002 ,it slightly decreased .the quantity of nation and international –fixed line phone calls grew insignificantly throughout the years . People had the tendency to spend more time on using mobiles phones in that period of time.

In conclusion , although the minutes people spent on mobiles calls increased more and more each year , the total number of minutes of local –fixed line calls in the UK still held the highest position of all three.
