In recent decades, most cities have faced overpopulation issues, which lead to numerous negative effects on lives. To begin with, it is obvious to see that overcrowded population has direct influences on the environment. On account of higher demand for resources and habitats, humans instantly keep making all use of them without improving that results in depletion of natural resources. Besides, the environment is seriously contaminated by excessive discharge from daily activities. Another effect of urban overpopulation to mention is related to employment. Taking into consideration, the rise in population of the cities makes it difficult to find jobs. As the cities cannot provide enough vacancies, a great number of workers have to do low-wage jobs or even become out of work. The final effect of overpopulation is that it has an adverse impact on traffic. The increase of inhabitants in the cities creates plenty of transportation, especially private vehicles, which is the main reason for traffic congestion. As a result, it not only limits the convenience of people’s travelling but also harms the air quality. In conclusion, urban overpopulation has caused several impacts that should not be ignored.
