How might these experiences encourage young people to read more for pleasure?
- Seeing a film of a book
- Giving reading prizes
- Library visits organised by the school
- Reading a book together in class
- Using interactive e-books.

- I don’t think that seeing a film of a book is a good idea to encourage young people to read. If you read these kinds of book after seeing the film, you are left without imagination nor surprises, because you have already seen the characters and you know the storyline.

- In my opinion you should read because you like to do it not because you are going to get a prize for it.

- This could be a good idea. Books are really expensive nowadays and the library would be a great resource for the ones that can’t spend to much money on them. Also like that they would see that there are other things in the world than video games, computers or television.

- As a teacher I don’t think that reading a whole book in class is such a brilliant idea. It would make the class and the book tedious, because the pupils can’t follow their own reading rhythm. Maybe, it would be more beneficial if you’d ask them to read a chapter and then discuss it in class.

- Interactive e-books are a new concept to me. I have seen some that I thought were amazing. Nonetheless in my opinion , they are fabulous if you want to introduce reading in children’s life, but I think that it is better if you know how to enjoy a normal book without so many distractions.

I believe that the best experience would be reading a book together in class, but as I explained before, not the whole book, but maybe the most interesting parts so that the class stays interactive, where the students can discuss or make presuppositions abou the book. Or maybe making a monthly book recommendation would also attract the youngsters attention, especially if they do the recommendations themselves.
