How do you define success in your life?
Success, in the simplest way, is your achievement in something you have always wanted or dreamt of. However, to me, it is not just like that. What we call “success” depends on each stage of our life. For example, when we are still babies, success means we can take our first halting steps. When we are a little bit older and go to school, success means we can get good scores at school. When we are in the last days of high school, success means we can pass the entrance exam and enter the university or college we desire. And when we are adults, success means we can get a stable career, or lead a fulfilling marriage. We have much success while we get through each period of our life. But can you recognize what these things that I have listed have something in common? At first glance, they seem not; but actually, they do. The common is that they all require intense effort, and each time we achieve “success”, we break our limit and make a breakthrough in our own development. That is also how I define “success”. Success means getting out of our bubbles; means going beyond our previous limits and trying to make a better self day by day. The today’s me has to be better than yesterday’s, and the me of tomorrow has to be better than the today’s . You may not win over others, but you can definitely win over yourself. That way, you know who you are, which way you need to go to reach happiness and understand the meaning of life. That is the greatest success. In conclusion, I strongly believe that being able to achieve does not make your success but success come when you dare to live, dare to grow, dare to break limits however tough your life is.
