Writing to stand out/interest reader

0 Hi everybody! I just received a news from an English examiner, who is very experienced in marking Cambridge o level English examination papers. He mentioned that in order to score at least a B for English free writing essay, we need to arouse and sustain the reader's interest, by writing creatively and originally. One way, which we can write creatively, is by varying the words and the grammatical structures. It also requires an unusual approach to score well. So, does anyone know how can we sustain the reader's interest? How can we be more ingenious and original in our writing? Is there any examples of unusual, but flawless, English sentence structures? Thanks! 0-
