Writing to a prosecuting attorney

Hello all!! I am new to the forum and am looking for help. I am writing a letter to a prosecuting attorney in order to get a speeding ticket reduced to a non-point violation. Any tips on what style I should write this in? Also, any tips that have worked for people in the past? Thank you_Ryan
