Topic: many criminals re-offend after they have been punished.why do people continue to commit crimes after they have been punished.what measures can be taken to solve this problem?

Recently, authorities have been set an alarm bells ringing about the increase of criminals . Particularly, the figure of convicts who reoffend after being punished is rising significantly. There are many factors why they reoffend and government has mitigated these issues by some measures.

The main causes which start criminal activities are poverty , unemployment and lack of education. Currently, the rates of poor people and unemployment are very high and tend to increase in many cities. These people have low living standards that produce a result they commit crimes. Although they have been punished ,they still continue to reoffend since they can’t get out of the poorness probably after being punished . By virtue of lack of education,people,especially young people, not only don’t understand the risks of unlawful actions and the consequences to their victims but also are gotten around by bad people easily .besides, even though lawbreakers have had rehabilitation, the criminal record has made finding the job more difficult. However, this issue not only due to poverty , unemployment or lack of education but also the prison system which may make a situation worse. Almost the prisons combine offenders with other criminals who can be a negative influence. Hence , after rehabilitation they tend to repeat committing crimes since they have the negative mind.

There are several actions that could be taken to eradicate the problem given. Fret of all ,in the criminal proceedings , inmates should be provided education or vocational training in order to increase the awareness of consequences of unlawful behaviours and the basic knowledge as well as the opportunities of finding job for them. Besides the rehabilitation programmes which play a vital role in renovate have to prepare prisoners for release into society. One of the common punishment which is used to reform offenders is community service. This not only benefits for the public or its institution but also helps lawbreakers be aware their usefulness in their local communities. Furthermore, the helps to look for accommodations and works are necessary for offenders to have chance of rehabilitation.
