Essay & Composition Writing

Writing task2. How much my band score can be ?

( People's living now is better than the past. Agree or dis agree ? )

Life has changed a lot over centuries. Many people believe that humans today are living a
more convenient and comfortable life than those in the past. In my opinion, I support this
idea because new inventions and discoveries have been made to make life better.

Today, people's standard of living has improved in leaps and bounds. Thanks to the
inventions of new vaccines and drugs, more diseases are cured and more lives are saved.
For example, in the previous century, thousands of people died of malaria and rabies and
people had to live in fear and worry. Fortunately, the situation has become better when
vaccines for these diseases have been discovered, contributing to save millions of lives.
However, some people think that there was no pollution in the past and people in the old
days could enjoy more fresh air. I still believe that modern life is more wonderful because
the health care is enhanced and there are more well-equipped hospitals and qualified
doctors to help people.

People today also enjoy faster travelling and food hygiene. For example, these days people
just need to book an air ticket and they can travel to faraway places in just a short time
while it might take people months or years to reach the destinations. Although some
others argue that previous generations could eat healthier food without poisons or
chemicals. In my view, people today can still buy safe food in supermarkets and do not
worry about the food hygiene and safety. It is because the products in supermarkets have
the expiry date and sufficient information and this can help customers choose the best
products.

In conclusion, although there are still some shortcomings in this century, people are also
enjoying a comfortable life with lots of conveniences. It is our responsibility to make this
world better by doing good things.
