Here is my second WT1. I hope to see your comments soon. Thanks a lot. ![]()
The two pie charts illustrate data about energy consumption and emissions in an Australian household on average. While the first chart shows the percentages of household energy use, greenhouse gas emissions are shown in the second one. Overall, energy is mainly used for heating, water heating, and other appliances, producing the largest percentages of emissions.
According to the first chart, heating accounts for the highest percentage of energy use, at over 40%, followed by water heating, with the figure being about 10% lower. Meanwhile, energy used for other appliances is half that for heating water (15%). This figure is approximately equal to the total percentage of the remaining categories, consisting of cooling, lighting, refrigeration with 2%, 4%, and 7% respectively.
Looking at the second chart, it is noticeable that although heating uses most energy, its emission accounts for just 15%, nearly the same that of refrigeration. While the proportion of greenhouse gas emission from water heating is relatively equal to its energy use (32%), the figure of other appliances roughly doubles its percentage of energy consumption (28%). Cooling and lighting are responsible for 3% and 8% of total emission respectively.
