Writing task 2: Traffic congestion. Please check it for me!

Traffic congestion is becoming increasingly problematic in major cities. What solutions can you suggest to help solve the problem?

These days, there is an increasing concern of traffic jam in big cities. In my opinion, the effort of the governments should be applied to deal with this problem.

First and most obviously, the change in citizens’ awareness plays a key role in improving the traffic situation. Except from the external factors like road works and accidents, traffic congestion also comes from the internal ones from the own drivers such as shoving through into the wrong lanes in rush hours and passing the red light. Actually people have to cope with many unexpected circumstances on a daily basis, however, the reaction to the certain case makes impact on the subsequent consequence they receive. For example, if people are patient and polite waiting to get past whatever are causing the delay in stead of trying to put themselves in the lanes for other vehicles or ignoring the red light, it may take less time for the temporary traffic jam to pass away. Thus, governments should organize education campaigns as well as publish the stricter punishments like higher fines to encourage people to behave properly.

Next, it is easily seen that the current transport infrastructure can not meet the demands of all residents in the developed cities. As the result of the overpopulation in the cities, there is a great number of vehicles which leads to the overloaded traffic. It is necessary for the authorities to make a financial investment to upgrade and expand the local roads and public transport facilities and establish the limitation for private vehicles like driving licenses and time for commuting in the city. In fact, governmental budget is unable to afford to build all public transport system which serves local people mostly. Therefore, collecting more tax from the residents is an effective method to make their own contribution to the services they enjoy and raise their awareness of the transport condition. Moreover, the ban from the government and the modern and convenient public transport system stimulate people using public vehicles instead of private ones, which undergo a dramatic change in the amount of vehicles.

All things considered, the conjunction of series of solution in educational, financial and laws areas will help the government to solve the problem of traffic jam.
