Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to live in one town or city all your life than to move from one place to another. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

People find it more enjoyable to spend all their lives staying in one town or city than to move from one place to another place to stay. I disagree with this statement.

It could be advantageous to settle down in one place because people would find it more comfortable to do repetitive tasks in their familiar surroundings such as studying, working or cleaning their homes. This, however, would prevent them from stepping out of their comfort zone and so, they will miss amazing opportunities to explore the world. On the other hand, moving from one place to another can have several benefits.

First, it would enable us to gain more valuable life experiences, which would improve them. For example, many friends of mine studying abroad told me that after graduating from their universities, they would continue to work as well as stay in foreign countries for several years rather than return back to Vietnam, their homeland. According to them, when they lived in these countries to study, they had to do everything on their own such as learning foreign languages, making friends with local people or even learning to drive cars to their schools. All of which allowed them to know various life skills, make new friends as well as become more mature in their lives. They continued to say that they would not have these experiences if they chose to stay and study in Vietnam all of their lives.

Furthermore, living in a new place would provide us with various conveniences so that we can be happier in our lives. For instance, when people move from the countryside to a large city, there are many facilities for them to choose from. They can travel to various places more easily thanks to modern public transport such as the subway, autobus or cars. They can also have a wide selection of entertainment venues such as movie theatres, concert halls, and also sports centres, which are quite few and far between in the countryside. As such, they will gain more satisfaction in their lives.

To sum up, I believe that choosing to change locations would be more pleasant compared to spending all of our time living in one place. This is because we are more likely to acquire more life experiences, which would benefit us individually as well as we can become more satisfied in life thanks to conveniences provided in new places.
