Task 2:

Some people like to keep a record of their own experiences by uploading pictures and other information to social-networking sites. Other people prefer not to create such records. Which approach do you prefer, and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Some people are keen on uploading pictures and other information on social media as a record of their own experiences, whereas some people do not enjoy doing that. I would prefer the former because doing that enables people to reinforce the connection with other people and also motivate them to make a further step in life.

To begin with, many people use social media to share their information and also upload pictures so that they can strengthen their bond with each other. Take me as an example. I normally upload many pictures about my trips and also other activities on my Facebook page - a social networking site. Doing this would allow everyone to keep informed with my life and help me connect with people having in common. On the contrary, if people do not upload any information about them online, others cannot know exactly about their characteristics and so they cannot maintain a closed connection with others.

Furthermore, keeping a record of their own experiences through pictures and other information on social media will encourage others to move forward in life. For instance, many people who have graduated from prestigious universities such as Harvard, Stanford, and Yale tend to upload their academic achievements and other contributions to society on social media as a reminder of what they have done in life. This inspires other people, having similar ambitions to make more efforts so that they can accomplish in their lives. Meanwhile, those who have not made any specific record of their own experience on social media, cannot create any similar motivational drive for others and also for themselves.

To sum up, I believe that recording their own experience by uploading pictures and other information would be more beneficial for everyone rather than not doing so on social media. This can help everyone stay current with each other’s social life, which would glue the relationships together. Also, many people inspired by others’ experiences and contributions would have more courage to achieve their ambitious goals.
