Hi everyone, today I write an essay about education. I hope this time will be better ![]()
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
For the successful development of a country, it is more important for a government to spend money on the education of very young children (five to ten years old) than to spend money on universities.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
It is said that to guarantee a better future for the country, the government should invest money in the education of children from 5 to 10 years old rather than invest money in universities. I disagree with this statement for some reasons.
Spending money on educating very young children seems infeasible. When government invest money on education for children, they will have to change different approach and also upgrade more knowledge just to expect that most of the children can absorb and utilize them. However, not all of them can really comprehend knowledge. Indeed, children’s mind at that age has not fully developed yet. Not to mention that children still prefer playing games to learning seriously. Therefore, new changes, as well as financial investment in education, is not conducive to learning for very young children but also detrimental to the government’s budget.
Nevertheless, there are many benefits when government invest money in universities. First, with the financial support of the government, students have more opportunities to learn without worrying about financial problems. For example, many public universities offer granted scholarships or even reduced tuitions fees for students who got academic excellence or come from poor families. This would be beneficial not only for these students but also for their families.
Furthermore, the government’s spending on education would encourage more universities to make academic contributions to the development of society. For instance, many public universities have invested money in hiring competent teachers and also added school facilities such as well-equipped laboratories, modern classrooms and even spot fields with special equipment. This could not only facilitate the learning of students but also allow them to practice and hone their skills for subjects they are good at. As a result, students can gain impressive results and top prizes in large scale competitions, both national and international ones.
To sum up, I oppose the statement that for the tremendous growth of the country, it is crucial to spend money on children (five to ten years old) than to spend money on universities since the financial support from the government to universities would benefit the learning of students with a financial burden as well as enable the academic contribution of the university.
