Writing task 2 sports please help me

Sport is becoming a business with high income for professionals and more companies have involved in financial and in other ways. Is it a positive or negative development?

In today’s world, sport is considered to be a lucrative business with huge earnings for professionals and there are widespread sports companies developing financially. Personally, i believe that this trend has both advantages and disadvantages but its benefits are significant.

To begin with, the major disadvantages of this trend is it may cause a distraction to players. With huge salaries, sports professionals may be lured into entertained activities, making them underperform both physically and mentally. For example, sports professionals in my country have become celebrities, some of those earn a considerable a lot of money, and be attracted to recreational activities. As a result, these people give poor performance, some even give up their sports careers. Furthermore, as many sports companies involved in financial activities, sport-related advertisements have proliferated in recent years, people watching sport at home usually feel frustrated when these advertisements appear in commercial breaks frequently.

However, the benefit of this development is it encourages people to engage in physical exercise, warning them off sedentary lifestyles and reducing obesity. With a view to building the company’s brand awareness, sports companies have invested and organized many sports activities and competitions. This potentially motivates young professionals and amateurs to take part in. For example, Red Bull has sponsored many sports competitions such as racing, and other extreme sports. Every year thousands of people engage in these competitions.

In conclusion, despite the disadvantages of this trend may bring, its benefits are overweight its drawbacks as it promotes a more active lifestyle.
